LG’s new G5 flagship smartphone for 2016 has arrived. Today the device became available in tens of countries around the world.
Those in LG’s homeland of South Korea got to see and order the device a day earlier than most. A recent report out of The Korea Heard has given us a total approximation for opening day sales. The Korea Heard claims that the LG G5 is off to a fast start in South Korea selling about 15,000 G5 units on day one, which was March 31st. This is exactly three times greater than orders were for the G4 flagship last year, which sold about 5,000 units on opening day in South Korea.
If this is true, LG will be very pleased with what they have accomplished thus far in its homeland. The G5 needs to put the company back on track after the rapid slowing of sales the G4 experienced last year. It’ll be interesting to see if the health of sales continues in the weeks ahead, which is where most companies struggle and experience a rapid downfall. If good things continue to take place, LG may just get the uplift it needs.
Have you ordered an LG G5? If so, let us know how you’re liking it in the comments down below.
