The Galaxy S7 Edge from Samsung is one of the hottest (and most expensive) devices of the year. It’s a premium phone, and costs quite a pretty penny. As a result, you might just want to protect your investment. It’s a very good idea, as you never know what could happen to your device. In fact, just the other day, thinking I didn’t need a case, I cracked the display on my Galaxy S7 Edge.
Cracks and other blemishes are mistake that you cannot reverse, but you can usually stop them from appearing in the first place by throwing a case over your device. We’re going to cover all of the best cases that are available for the Galaxy S7 Edge, particularly options that offer the most protection.
Speck CandyShell Onyx Clear Case
The Speck CandyShell Clear is my favorite case for the Galaxy S7 Edge. This phone is beautiful, and you don’t always want to cover that up. That said, the CandyShell Clear case is designed for impact and shock absorption but still shows off your stylish new smartphone. Now, I like the Onyx version because I have the Black Onyx variant of the Galaxy S7 Edge. It matches really well with the smartphone.
As far as specifics go, it has a dual-layer protective design. There’s an exterior polycarbonate shell that disperses impact, and the interior TPE layer absorbs shock. There’s even a raised ridge around the top and bottom of the case to protect your screen from damage.
- Colors: Onyx Clear
- Pricing: $40

Speck CandyShell Clear Case
The Speck CandyShell Clear is the same as the above case, but doesn’t have that Onyx color tint to it. It has the same impact protection and shock absorption as the CandyShell Clear Onyx case, so the only real difference you’re going to notice is style.
It has a dual-layer protective design, meaning there’s an exterior polycarbonate shell that disperses impact, while the interior TPE layer absorbs shock.
- Colors: Clear
- Pricing: $40

Spigen Crystal Shell Case
The Spigen Crystal Shell Case is similar to what Speck offers in a lot of ways, but also has some unique technology built-in. For instance, the corners are raised and are reinforced with the company’s Air Cushion Technology, adding even more protection. This technology is added on top of your standard impact protection and shock absorption layers.
This case does feature a flexible TPU bumper, but also has a hard shell casing. Again, you also have those raised bezels on the case to protect your screen from physically hitting the ground or some other surface.
- Colors: Crystal Clear, Dark Crystal, Rose Crystal
- Pricing: $25-$32

Otterbox Commuter Case
Of course, we can’t leave out the Otterbox Commuter, which has a reputation for providing extraordinary protection to many different smartphones. It comes in a ton of different color options, and is a two-piece case that will protect against all shocks, bumps, and drops. One of the neat things about this case is that it has a bunch of rubber covers for the ports on your smartphone, keeping dust and any debris out of those ports.
- Colors: Black, Glacier, Whetstone Way, Flame Way, Bahama Way, Mauve Way, Bubblegum Way
- Pricing: $31

Unicorn Beetle Pro Case
The Unicorn Beetle Pro series case is perfect the the person that wants access to all of the Galaxy S7 Edge’s ports and sensitivity while still providing rugged protection for heavy and outdoor use. It has the traditional dual-layer design, featuring a polycarbonate hard shell on the outside and a flexible TPU piece on the inside.
This case also comes with a 360-degree swiveling belt clip to make carrying the smartphone much more convenient than trying to shove the extra width in your pocket.
- Colors: Black/Black, Blue/Black, Green/Grey, Pink/Grey, White/Grey
- Pricing: $18

i-Blason Prime Case
If you really want heavy duty protection, the i-Blason Prime is the way to go. It has an outer hard shell designed to take hard impacts, and it also has that rubber inner sleeve designed to absorb shock. What’s unique about this case is that it can slide onto a belt clip holster easy, but it can also serve as a kickstand.
- Colors: Black, Blue, Red, White
- Pricing: $15

Spigen Slim Armor CS Case
Need some all-around protection with added convenience? Then the Spigen Slim Armor CS case might be just for you. It has dual-layered protection for maximum impact and shock protection, but also features an easily accessible card slot that can fit two cards, whether that be debit card or even your ID.

Spigen Neo Hybrid Case
Looking for a case that’s a little slimmer, but still offers a decent amount of protection? The Spigen Neo Hybrid case for the Galaxy S7 Edge will keep your smartphone safe from drops, scratches, and other annoying potential damages. Not only that, but it’s also a very stylish case, featuring a premium patterned design with some added grip.
- Colors: Satin Silver, Gunmetal, Champagne Gold
- Pricing: $24-$35

Spigen Wallet S Case
This lightweight and leather case keeps convenience at front and center. Not only does a hard polycarbonate case keep your device safe from drops and damages, but the leather enclosure also lets you store up to three cards as well as a little bit of cash. There’s also a nice little home button insert to keep the home button from being pressed while the case is closed.
Overall, it’s a stylish case that also doubles as your wallet. Certainly a nice feature, but it does only come in black.
- Colors: Black
- Pricing: $30
