The HTC 10 flagship smartphone is inching closer. The device is scheduled to release on April 12th, where it may be accompanied by a new Desire phone. The HTC 10 has been fairly hidden from leaks up until this point. However today, some of Sense 8.0’s design elements leaked in photos, and we’re giving you a peek at it.

We asked for innovation, and HTC is giving it to us! The leaked screenshots contain details on what HTC’s new Sense UI could look like, and it’s nothing like the previous generation. HTC may announce a new breakthrough called ‘Freestyle layouts.’ These are different themed layouts meant to change the look of the UI.

Instead of placing just app icons and widgets on your homescreen, freestyle layouts include stickers that can blend into the interface design. Stickers are also not limited to rows and columns, they can placed anywhere on the homescreen. We haven’t seen an approach like this from other manufacturers, so hopefully it’ll be a good implementation that people desire.

On the hardware front, we received some confirmation on Twitter from chip-maker Qualcomm. Qualcomm basically confirmed that the Snapdragon 820 processor will be among the internals on the upcoming HTC 10. The combination of the Snapdragon 820 and HTC’s Sense 8.0, may just give consumers the most powerful option on the market.

If the leaked screenshots are real, it’s a good sign that HTC is looking to change things around on its new smartphone, which many fans will gladly appreciate. This past week, we managed to put together a list of features we want to see most in the HTC 10. As always, we’ll have you covered on all the news when the device becomes official. Stay tuned!
