The Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge came pre-loaded with Marshmallow, the Sprint Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge got Marshmallow in March, and now the Sprint Galaxy S5 is getting the same update over-the-air.

Sprint Galaxy S5 owners, it’s your lucky day! You should soon receive a heads-up notification to update to Google’s latest Android version (excluding the minor 6.0.1 update) in that of Android 6.0. It will bring all of the latest features from both Samsung and Google including doze mode for battery saving, Now On Tap for contextual awareness, and simplified app permissions to keep you in control of your data. All these goodies don’t come free of costs, but the only cost you’ll be getting charged is device storage.

Version G900PVPU3CPCA comes at a large size, so make sure you have enough space. This also means it will take a chunk of time to fully download and install, so make sure you have enough battery life in the tank before starting. The update is rolling out via OTA in waves, but Sprint says all users will get it by April 19th. If you haven’t gotten it yet, try going into your device settings under ‘About Phone’ and ‘software updates.’ This may speed up the process. To avoid data overages, it would be smart to connect to a Wi-Fi network prior to downloading and installing. More details are viewable at the link below.
