T-Mobile’s Des more often than not takes part in an unboxing video when new smartphones come out. Some of which he did were with the LG G5 and Galaxy S7. Each one is unique in its own way of craziness. This time around, Des takes a look at the all-new HTC 10.
According to Des, the new HTC 10 is “all about the camera.” After years of being at the bottom of the pile when it comes to camera tech, HTC may have finally given the people what they wanted, which is an all-around good camera. Des takes the HTC 10 for a test drive at 10,000 feet above the Earth’s surface from a helicopter. During flight, he takes shots from above including sightings in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Before Des showed off the device itself, he unpacked the box. Contents include a SIM card, Quick Start Guide, return label (if you need one), Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 wall adapter, and USB Type-C charging cable. Looking at exterior of the device itself, you’ll find the power and volume controls on right hand side, a microSD card slot (expandable up to 2TB) on the left side, a headphone jack on the top, BoomSound Hi-Fi speakers on both the top and bottom, and a button on the front housing a fingerprint scanner.
The HTC 10 houses both a 12MP UltraPixel rear-facing camera, and a 5MP UltraPixel front-facing camera. Both include optical image stabilization (OIS) and sport an f/1.8 lens. The rear-facing camera even shoots 4K video with 24-bit High Res Audio, which can also shoot in RAW. The camera interface has also been redone with simplicity in mind. However, if you’re looking to do some more advanced shooting, the new Pro Mode has you covered. Based on the captures taken during the video, the camera quality and video recording of both camera’s look exceptional. But we’ll have to do some more in-depth testing including low-light samples to see how it fares against the competition.
