BlackBerry revealed today in the Beta Zone of its forums that Marshmallow will begin rolling out to the first wave of Priv users that have enrolled in the beta program.
Those who enrolled in the Beta Zone program will get the Marshmallow update just like any other update: users should get a prompt to download Marshmallow, or they can head on into Settings > About Phone to check for it manually. One thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need to have diagnostic reporting enabled on your BlackBerry Priv, otherwise, you may not get the update.
Keep in mind that this Marshmallow beta OTA update is just like any other update. If you don’t get it right away, it might take some time to get to you, as there are a lot of people that want in on this.
BlackBerry says the first wave of the Marshmallow beta is rolling out today:
“Some participants will start to receive Marshmallow software tomorrow (Wednesday, EST). We will take a similar approach to how we brought people into the program when rolling out the software update: start with a small group, monitor for any critical issues, then expand to larger and larger groups. We expect to have everyone updated by the end of the week.”
That said, it’s probably a little too late to enroll to be apart of the first wave. However, it’s worth heading on over to the BlackBerry Beta Zone to enroll in time for the second round of the beta.
Anyone signed up and have Marshmallow on the Priv already? Let us know in the comments below!
