It was a near four weeks ago when we all experienced the surprise from Google in the release of the Android N Developer Preview. Today, Google has announced its second preview of Android N.

The updated version of Google’s Android N Developer Preview fixes a ton of bugs that were present in the first release. It’s also bringing some new features including a Vulkan 3D rendering API and more.

If you were among those experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity problems on the first preview, you’ll be happy to know that they have now been fixed. Google’s new Vulkan 3D rendering API has made an appearance which will allow developers to access the GPU directly. Performance is said to see a major lift from this.

Google is also bringing a collection of new emojis, which can be seen at the source link below this article. New launcher shortcuts have also made their way to the second version of the Android N Developer Preview. This will allow developers to add homescreen shortcuts to their apps. We’re expecting this to work similarly to Apple’s homescreen shortcuts on devices running iOS 9+.

The preview can now be downloaded on newer Nexus models and several Android One devices, but we’re hoping more are added to support the test build in the future. Those who have a Nexus Player will get access to the update in a few days. Eligibility and instructions on how to update can be read at the link down below.
