We’re still waiting for Lenovo/Motorola to announce something new for 2016, but so far all we’ve gotten are leaks that aren’t telling anyone enough. The latest leak sticks to that, showing nothing but a name and a weird home button.
Courtesy of Evan Blass, we might be seeing a Lenovo-branded Moto G4 Plus soon. It might also have a square home button on its bottom bezel, which also means it won’t have a front firing speaker there.
Your guess is as good as mine as to what that actually is. Looks like a very cropped press render, but it’s almost definitely the bottom of a device. Typically OEMs don’t put buttons like that on their phones anymore unless they include a fingerprint scanner, so we have that to look forward to.
The other questions are about what the Moto G4 Plus will actually be. If the naming ends up following normal logic, it’ll likely be a fourth generation Moto G with a big screen, but Lenovo likes to use letters and numbers that don’t make perfect sense.
Take all of this with a grain of salt. We haven’t heard anything from Lenovo or Motorola, and seeing a fingerprint scanner on a phone in the market of the Moto G would definitely be uncharted territory for both companies, so there is plenty of information that we’re still waiting on before we know anything for sure.
