LeEco, formerly Letv, has announced three new devices to refresh the phone they released last April. The new devices keep up the naming scheme of the previous iterations, which can be a little confusing, but you’ve got the Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and Le Max 2. I don’t know why you’d split where the “2” is in different models like that, but that’s what happened. Let’s dig into the specs.The devices are all pretty solid, with the Le 2 sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. There’s a deca-core MediaTek CPU on board, plus a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
The Le 2 Pro is similar but offers improved internals across the board. The display is bumped up to a 2k resolution, there’s 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and the rear camera is a 21-megapixel shooter instead of the 16 in the normal Le 2.
The Le Max 2 has a slightly larger design with a 5.7-inch QHD display, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, and, surprisingly, a Snapdragon 820.
All three devices have USB Type C chargers and fingerprint scanners, and coincidentally, they all lack a headphone jack. LeEco is banking on you using USB C headphones or Bluetooth headphones instead of the traditional 3.5mm cans you probably already have, only adding to the speculation that the tried-and-true headphone jack is on its last legs.
If you can live without traditional headphones, these new phones from LeEco offer a lot of bang for your buck.
