LeEco, formerly Letv, has announced three new devices to refresh the phone they released last April. The new devices keep up the naming scheme of the previous iterations, which can be a little confusing, but you’ve got the Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and Le Max 2. I don’t know why you’d split where the “2” is in different models like that, but that’s what happened. Let’s dig into the specs.
The devices are all pretty solid, with the Le 2 sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. There’s a deca-core MediaTek CPU on board, plus a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
The Le 2 Pro is similar but offers improved internals across the board. The display is bumped up to a 2k resolution, there’s 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and the rear camera is a 21-megapixel shooter instead of the 16 in the normal Le 2.
The Le Max 2 has a slightly larger design with a 5.7-inch QHD display, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, and, surprisingly, a Snapdragon 820.
All three devices have USB Type C chargers and fingerprint scanners, and coincidentally, they all lack a headphone jack. LeEco is banking on you using USB C headphones or Bluetooth headphones instead of the traditional 3.5mm cans you probably already have, only adding to the speculation that the tried-and-true headphone jack is on its last legs.
If you can live without traditional headphones, these new phones from LeEco offer a lot of bang for your buck.
