Acer at a press event in New York City yesterday announced a new tablet, the Iconia Tab 10.

They announced a handful of other devices yesterday, including an addition to the company’s Chromebook line as well as a new smartphone. However, the new Iconia Tab 10 might be one of their best offerings, being geared towards media consumption.

It has a 10-inch Full HD display, taking advantage of MediaTek’s MiraVision technology. This technology delivers better contrast and colors, making everything look that much more detailed. This tablet is also equipped with four front-facing speakers that are capable of delivering 160-degree surround sound. Impressive, right?

Around the back you have a 5-megapixel camera as well as another set of speakers. There aren’t any hardware buttons for navigation, but there is a physical button for setting the best sound and picture for the type of content you’re consuming (e.g. music, a movie, and so on).

Powering all of this under the hood is a quad-core MediaTek MT8163 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with microSD support, and it’s running Marshmallow. There wasn’t any word on battery size, but initial reports says it can last up to eight hours on a single charge.

Acer is aiming to have the tablet available in June in the UK, with prices starting at £180. Additional availability wasn’t detailed, but we can’t imagine it taking much longer to get the tablet in other markets.
