We’re expecting Samsung to disclose their Galaxy Note 6 earlier than usual this year, perhaps some time in July. This means that the device would have to enter production soon, so decisions need to be made.
There’s a rumor floating around that the Galaxy Note 6 could feature the dual-edge screen present on many of Samsung’s past flagships. Previously, we thought that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ from last year would be phased out, having the larger-screened Galaxy S7 Edge take its place. However, this rumored device would combine both the Note functionality and edge design into one, making one beastly, massive, and likely expensive flagship smartphone.
The only handset to incorporate both the S Pen of the Galaxy Note series, and the edge screen was the Galaxy Note Edge, which launched back in 2014. It featured a one-sided heavy sloped edge panel instead of two. Now, we know that Samsung wants to launch just one model this July. Will we see a Galaxy Note 6 with a dual-curved display? It’s still a possibility according to GSM Helpdesk.
It shouldn’t be long before the device(s) hit production. At that time we’ll get a better idea through leaks of what Samsung decides to do.
