The Enpass password manager app gets a new feature in the latest update that is rolling out, support for time-based one-time password (TOTP) authentication. This was a feature the developers included previously in the iOS and Mac versions of the app. In addition to including it in the Android version, Enpass is also adding it to the Linux and Windows desktop clients.

TOTP is an authentication method similar to the Google Authenticator that generates a special key by using the current time of day as part of the algorithm. The system is meant to provide an additional layer of security for users as an attacker needs the TOTP in addition to a traditional password to complete an attack and the TOTP is changed about every 30 to 60 seconds.

Along with the addition of TOTP support, the Android app also gets selective field sharing. Users can manually decide which fields they want to share when working in the app. Enpass also added a new search engine option in the Enpass browser on Android and addressed some bugs.

Enpass was one of the best password managers for Android in our latest roundup. Although it may lag behind in some areas compared to bigger players in the market, TalkAndroid did note that Enpass has some of the best support for multiple platforms.
