Nintendo during its earnings call announced two new mobile games based off of two of its popular franchises: Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing will be an interesting mobile title, as Nintendo says it will connect to at least one Animal Crossing game from Nintendo’s dedicated gaming systems. We’re not sure which one that will be, but it’s likely that it’ll be with the company’s latest console, the Wii U. Beyond that, details are scarce. All we really know is that Animal Crossing for mobile platforms is coming this Autumn.
Details on Fire Emblem are even more scarce and mysterious, with Nintendo saying that it’ll be “more accessible in comparison to the Fire Emblem games for Nintendo’s dedicated gaming systems,” and “offer the great value of a role-playing strategy game.”
Nintendo says both titles will be “pure game applications,” meaning they’ll probably be actual fully fledged games as opposed to just a port.
Both titles are expected to launch in Autumn.
Again, details are scarce, but the company did provide this statement:
“Nintendo will provide more details about these applications closer to their launch period, and aims to have multiple types of apps that appeal to different audiences and different groups of players.”
We’ll hopefully hear more details in the near future.
