When the phone was announced, Verizon slyly mentioned that the HTC 10 would be a timed exclusive for its customers. Select carriers, including T-Mobile and Sprint, simply said the phone was on the way while Big Red proclaimed it would “be available in the U.S. first on Verizon.” And that has turned out to be true.

The HTC 10 went up for pre-order on Verizon’s site earlier today, making it the only carrier to be offering the 2016 flagship in any way. Customers can get pre-order the phone right now for a special price of $22.83 per month for twenty-four months with $0 down. That price will jump up to $27 per month once the phone exits the pre-order stage. If paying the full retail price in one shot is more appealing to you, Verizon has the HTC 10 priced at $649. HTC actually charges $699 for the unlocked edition, so being forced to the Verizon-specific model will save you $50 for the annoyance.

Verizon, however, is only giving its customers one color option for the HTC 10 — Glacial Silver. The Topaz Gold and Carbon Gray colors are nowhere to be found, and it’s unlikely that Big Red will be adding them in the future.

T-Mobile and Sprint customers will be getting a chance to buy HTC’s flagship in the coming weeks. While T-Mobile hasn’t provided a specific date, Sprint said on Friday that it will be selling the HTC 10 starting May 13. Meanwhile, AT&T customers will have to buy the unlocked edition because the carrier has no plans at all to stock its stores with units.

It’s also not clear when Verizon will ship the HTC 10, but Sprint’s plans for availability make us suspect the phone will begin shipping late next week.
