A new report coming by way of SamMobile indicates that the Galaxy Note 6 will feature a Type-C connector.

SamMobile has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 6 will feature this new connector, but is not sure whether it’ll have the latest USB 3.1 standard or an older version. It would make sense for Samsung to sport the USB 3.1 standard, as it also has that USB Power Delivery 2.0 technology for faster charging with it. It’s also able to carry HDMI or Display Port video signals.

Previous rumors have hinted that the smartphone would be waterproof (or water resistant), which would make sense since the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge both have that same resistance.

If this latest rumor has any credibility to it, that means Samsung would have to create a new Gear VR with a Type-C connectivity. In that light, it doesn’t really make sense for Samsung to go the Type-C route, as a Type-C Gear VR would alienate a lot of customers.

Whatever the case, a Galaxy Note 6 is on the horizon. What would you like to see in it?
