Manufacturers like Samsung are trying to bring tech to the automobile. Based on a new report, Samsung has partnered with several major German carmakers to do just that.

Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi have agreed on terms with Korean tech giant Samsung. Samsung will supply the three German carmakers with electronic components to improve upon their automotive businesses.

Samsung plans to incorporate a variety of its smart devices into the car. These include the Gear 360, Gear VR, and lithium-ion batteries to provide the car with an increased driving range. Some of these tools will help the carmakers show off their cars in a way that’s more interactive and fun. Dealers may soon be able to give consumers a look inside a particular car without even having the car present at the dealership.

Samsung is on a mission to be one of the largest suppliers when smart cars get bigger. Adding partnerships is a great start. It’ll be interesting to see what Samsung and partners are able to create and improve upon. We’ll be on the lookout for anything and everything new giving drivers a better experience in the automobile.
