Google has posted their Android distribution numbers for May 2016, and everything has progressed about how you’d expect. Marshmallow continues to grow at the expense of older versions of Android, moving up to 7.5% from 4.6% last month.

Data collected during a 7-day period ending on May 2, 2016

Older versions of Android are still pretty dominant on Google’s side of the fence, with KitKat still present on roughly 1/3 of all Android devices. Devices running 5.0 and up still account for less than 50% of these devices, although things are trending in the right direction with Marshmallow growing and 5.1 holding steady.

Interested in exactly how these versions have changed?

  • Froyo: 0%
  • Gingerbread: -0.4%
  • Ice Cream Sandwich: -0.2%
  • Jelly Bean: -1.2%
  • KitKat: -0.9%
  • Lollipop: -0.2%
  • Marshmallow: 2.9%

Froyo has to fall off eventually, right?
