Google Maps was a game-changer. It brought free and unlimited turn-by-turn navigation to the masses, and it continues to be one of the most widely used and beloved mobile apps in the world. It's great for finding locations around you, but the true beauty of Google Maps as far as navigation is concerned is that it forced dedicated navigator makers to really step up their game and slash prices. They used to charge an arm and a leg for navigators and then even more fees on top of that for map updates, but that's no longer the case.
