After months of controversy surrounding its Autopilot software, Tesla last week provided a number of details regarding its long-awaited update to its Autopilot software. As we covered previously, one of the more interesting aspects regarding version 8 of Tesla's Autopilot software is that it will rely more heavily on the car’s radar in order to detect upcoming road obstacles. The entire version 8.0 update is said to make for a much more intelligent Autopilot experience, with Elon Musk even going so far as to say that the upcoming software update could have very well prevented the tragic crash in Florida earlier this year that saw a Model S crash into a tractor-trailer.
