While Windows Phone isn’t really ahead of the game when it comes to a lot of features, one of the most useful features that it does have is Kid’s Corner. This feature allows parents to create a dedicated and safe environment for children. It seems that Samsung is looking to add a similar feature to their upcoming Galaxy S5.
The way it will work is that a cartoon character, Kroko, will be the guide. You’ll start off by creating a PIN which you’ll use to control Kids Mode. Then you can customize settings like the apps that can be used and who your child can contact. You can even set a timer to limit the time that your child spends on the device.
The feature will also use a “Kids quick panel” which will drop down from the top of the screen and act as a control panel. From there you can also change various parental control settings. Kids Mode will also allow access to the new “Kids Store” where apps in various categories can downloaded. There are both paid and free apps, however when there is an attempt to buy an app, the PIN will have to be entered.
The interface will be quite colorful, and is likely to be a very helpful feature for parents.
