Guest Jeff Causey Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 After Samsung and HTC had big flagship device reveals earlier this year that included quick, if not immediate, availability of their devices, smartphone buyers hoping to get an LG G3 continue to wait for word on when the device will actually be available. Perhaps to appease the masses, LG has released a whole series of videos highlighting some of the features they are bringing to the market with the LG G3. Like other manufacturers, LG recognizes there are a lot of consumers out there that want to both protect their device’s screen and access information quickly. LG’s answer to this is the QuickCircle function that works with the QuickCircle Case, so one of the videos highlights functions available in this manner. Another new feature LG included is their Smart Keyboard that let’s users resize the keyboard. That is not all though as users can just swipe up to complete a word from autocomplete and use gestures to correct typos. Some of the new features of the LG G3 are not unfamiliar to buyers, but LG has brought their own spin to them. One example is the Dual Window function which creates two panes on the screen with different apps similar to Samsung’s multi-window function. In a bit of an improvement, LG will let you put the browser in both panes at the same time so you can view two websites at once. Another example is the Smart Notice feature, which is similar to Google Now and aims to present the right information at the right time to a user. Finally, a couple of the videos relate to LG’s KNOCK Code, the next generation of their Knock On technology. The KNOCK Code lets users bypass the lock screen by tapping their code and going directly to the home screen. This can be done even when the phone is in a “sleep” mode. LG will also let you setup a knock code for a guest account and you can specify an app that will be opened for guests when they use the code.
