Guest Justin Herrick Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Google is the kind of company that does not completely hide things behind the curtain. They throw hints and tricks into the public for everyone to speculate about. Prior to Android 4.4 KitKat’s official announcement, there was so much chatter about what it would entail and when it would actually arrive. It now seems that Google may be doing something very similar with Android 5.0, the next major release of the operating system. The image above was posted on Google’s Twitter account earlier today. It’s purpose is to promote the FIFA World Cup that starts this afternoon, but there is something (literally) smaller in the image that teases something more: the time. Take a look at the top right of each Nexus 5 in the image and it is 5:00. In the past, Google has used clocks to indicate the Android version. The Nexus S had 2:30 for Gingerbread. The Galaxy Nexus displayed 4:00 for Ice Cream Sandwich. And the Nexus 4 had 4:20 for Jelly Bean. Currently, the available Nexus devices show 4:40 for KitKat. In a few weeks, we may be introduced to Android 5.0 at Google I/O. Until then, let the speculation roll on! Source: @Google Come comment on this article: Did Google subtly tease Android 5.0?
