Guest Jeff Causey Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Today ARCHOS announced two new smartphones, including the ARCHOS 50c Oxygen packing a Mediatek Octa-Core processor for only £179 ($303 USD). In addition to the 1.7GHz processor, buyers also get dual-sim capability. Outside of those specs, the 50c Oxygen is more in line with the budget pricing. It packs a 5-inch IPS HD screen running at 1280 x 720 resolution with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage expandable with an additional 64GB via microSD. It also comes with an 8MP camera capable of recording 1080p video. If the 50c Oxygen is too steep in terms of price, buyers may be interested in the 50b Oxygen. Most of the hardware is the same, but the 50b Oxygen comes equipped with only a quad-core Mediatek processor running at 1.3GHz. Storage comes in 4GB or 8GB configurations and the 50b Oxygen is a little bit thicker. With these downgrades in hardware, the 50b Oxygen only costs £129 ($219 USD). ARCHOS has not made any announcements about which markets the new ARCHOS devices will be available in. source: ARCHOS Come comment on this article: ARCHOS announces the 50c Oxygen and 50b Oxygen smartphones Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
