Guest Harrison Kaminsky Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 The Nexus 5 was based on LG’s G2, so it would only seem natural that the Nexus 6 would be based on the G3. But this is not so, according to LG exec Ken Hong, at least. In an interview, Hong said that the company “was not informed” about the Nexus 6, and joked that the company probably left him out of the loop when the device was passed around internally. There have been rumors that the Nexus 6 will never exist, due to the upcoming Android Silver product line said to replace the Nexus concept for Google — and Hong confirms these rumors. However, LG is rumored to be working closely with Google on the first Android Silver device, which will have a 64-bit processor, and should run stock Android. While Hong didn’t confirm anything regarding Android Silver, he didn’t specifically say that there isn’t such a phone in the works.
