Guest Jack Holt Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 With Nest and Honeywell being just two names in the new “smart home” trend, it comes as no surprise that others are making the push into the foray. Today Archos made its leap into the market with a total smart home package. The smart home set up we got to play with at CES will cost you $250, this starter package comes with a “specialized” 7-inch tablet, two wireless cameras, two movement tags, and two weather tags to place throughout your home. To supplement the hardware, there is an Android or iOS app that allows you to control these devices straight from your smartphone. Archos will continue to add more to the line up with a series of add-ons. These include an alarm siren, motion detector, a remote-controlled socket plug, and a pet tracker. The Archos smart home can control up to 13 devices within a range of 65 feet (20 meters). So if you’re in the market for a smart home set up that won’t break the bank, you may want to give Archos a look. We have a gallery for you below.
