Guest Harrison Kaminsky Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 “Mini” variants of devices have been popping up for some time now, and cater especially to those who would like a premium smartphone, but wouldn’t mind sacrificing some of the higher-end specs so that the screen size can shrink a bit to their liking. The LG G2 Mini, which was announced last February, has not been as successful as LG might have liked, and perhaps that’s because it wasn’t all that “mini.” The device, which featured a 4.7-inch screen, was a bit big for some users, who might have decided on another smartphone with similar specs and a smaller screen. Now, it looks like LG has picked up on the lost potential for sales — according to rumors, it looks like the device’s successor, the LG G3 Mini, will feature a smaller screen, of 4.5 inches. It’s not exactly “mini” either, but does match the screen size of a competitor phone, the HTC One Mini 2. The information is on the Indian import/export site, and also includes some of the phone’s specs. According to Zauba, the phone will have a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 5MP camera and a 2100mAh battery. However, that would mean that the camera and battery are worse than what was in the LG G2 Mini, while it keeps the same processor speed. It’s completely confusing, so certainly take these specs with a grain of salt. Of course, this could also mean that the screen size of 4.5 inches could also be incorrect, so wait for further confirmation on this one. Of all of the rumored specs on upcoming devices we’ve reported in the past, this has to be the wackiest, so stay tuned.
