Some people haven’t been impressed with the dimpling and some have even gone to the extreme of comparing the gold S5 to that of a Band-Aid. There’s a decent amount of memes on the matter if you search hard enough. Even so, Samsung has announced a new variant that will make those unhappy people, a little less unhappy.

The other day, Samsung

announced an LTE-A variant of the Galaxy S 5 in Korea, that boasted updated specs, but the same dimpling and design as the S5. The Galaxy S 5 LTE-A obviously brings LTE-A support, but it also brings a Snapdragon 805, 3GB of RAM, and a QHD display. However, the Korean giant is also releasing a special edition version of the GS5 LTE-A that comes with a new backing. Instead of the dimples, users will see an alternating diamond-like pattern that could potentially make the phone more grippy.

As it sits currently, the special edition device will be a Korean exclusive like the S5 LTE-A itself. Although, this variant will only be sold on the Korean carrier Olleh. Of course, those of you waiting on dropping a chunk of change on a new smartphone could wait for the Galaxy F.
