Guest Jeff Causey Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Parents with small children who are fans of PBS programming now have a new avenue to give their kids access to those shows, the PBS KIDS Video app for Android devices. To help parents make use of the app and avoid having to turn their tablet over to their child to watch a show, PBS built in Chromecast support. Using the app you can fire up titles like Curious George, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That, Sesame Street or Wild Kratts amongst others, cast it to your Chromecast, and resume using your tablet or smartphone for your activities. PBS indicates they will be releasing a “Weekly Pick” each week to help encourage reading, science, or math development. In addition to the Chromecast support, the app will let you create a favorites list for your child and it will provide information like intended age level or learning goals to help parents. In addition to the content freely available, additional shows will be available for purchase from Google Play or the PBS KIDS Shop. Check out some screen shots below.
