Anyway, Amazon is looking at introducing “kindle unlimited.” An ebook service offering over 600,000 titles on top of thousands of audiobooks on any device that supports Kindle, the service will cost you $9.99 a month.

The service has been rumored to exist for a few months and would be in direct competition with existing ebook subscription services like Oyster and Scribd. As it stands currently, Amazon is speaking with publishers in the US about being a part of the service. The most recent leaked information pegs the number of books available at a little over 638,000 and some of the books included are the ones in the Kindle Owners Lending Library.

That’s about it for information regarding the service and we’ll keep an eye on it. With subscription-based “ownership” being all the rage these days it makes sense for books to somehow make their way to the business model. We’ll update you as soon as we know more. Stay tuned!
