Guest James Gray Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/2914b7ee21bcff1abb2499f50b83940c.jpg For those of you anxiously awaiting the Moto 360 (myself included), a new tidbit of information has come out regarding Motorola’s most recent foray into the world of smartwatches. In a hands-on video posted to TechCrunch’s YouTube page, a representative for Motorola lets slip that the Moto 360 includes an ambient light sensor, a feature that is sorely missing from the Samsung Gear Live and the LG G Watch (the only two Android Wear devices to be launched so far). For those wondering, an ambient light sensor measures ambient light to automatically adjust the brightness of your screen and could really boost the battery life of the Moto 360, giving it a clear advantage over the competition. The idea behind Android Wear is quick and easy access to the things that are relevant to you. With that in mind, it would seem crazy to have to fish through settings menus to adjust something as important as the brightness of the display. You can skip to the 1:50 mark to hear the Motorola rep mention the sensor, but I recommend watching the entire video to see why the Moto 360 may be the first “must-have” smartwatch.
