Acer and Nvidia announce new 13-inch Chromebook with Tegra K1 and 13 hours of battery life

The Acer Chromebook 13 will be the first ChromeOS device to wield a Tegra K1 processor and with it, boasts a 13 hour battery life. There are two variants of the Chromebook with a few options to choose from.

Starting at $279 the 13-inch device comes with a full-size keyboard and a screen resolution of 1366×768 and Nvidia states it’s the thinnest Chromebook available coming in at a mere 18mm in thickness. The $279 model will also come with a 16GB SSD and 2GB of RAM. There’s a 1920×1080 model for those who want a better display with the same SSD and RAM for a mere $20 more. For $379 buyers can get the full HD model with 4GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD. Nvidia clocks battery life for that model at about 11 hours.

Amazon or Best Buy later today for pre-sale. With quad-core performance and all day battery life, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better for the price point.
