But at least this one is a little different with its rugged design. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/0eaeba179f5032e360d00599854e1dfe.jpg The Unite Explore is a rugged mobile hotspot that can take bumps and moisture with ease. According to the carrier, it is water- and shock-resistance as well as dustproof. So you can toss the Unite Explore around or dunk it in water and nothing bad will happen. AT&T says the Unite Explore allows up to fifteen devices to be connected simultaneously and battery life can reach up to twenty-two hours. Battery life, though, will really vary depending on the number of devices connected and whether or not a lot of data is being used. This is also the first mobile hotspot from AT&T to have “new security features, advanced parental controls, and Guest Wi-Fi.” The carrier didn’t really go into what any of that means, but it seems like you’re being guaranteed a secure connection. Starting April 1, you can walk into an AT&T store or go to the carrier’s site to purchase the Unite Explore for $49 with a two-year contract. Last year, AT&T partnered with ZTE for an in-car mobile hotspot called the ZTE Mobley. A manufacturing partner for the Unite Explore was not named.
