Via Gizmodo, a new collaboration between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Kongsberg Maritime, and Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil has produced a robotic aquatic snake that really does look like something out of The Matrix. Called the Eelume, the robot was designed to examine and repair underwater structures such as oil wells. This will save money since right now even small underwater repairs are handled by large and expensive vessels that should really only be used to make major repairs.
