Apple says that January 1 was the most lucrative day in App Store history

Apple just posted a press release boasting that its increasingly popular App Store completely demolished existing sales records on New Years Day. By the time the dust settled, customers on January 1 purchased $240 million worth of apps, marking a new one-day record and once more affirming that Apple as a services company is a force to be reckoned with.
