Netflix's trending chart of the hottest TV shows is dominating this week by an unsurprising knockout: The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight days ago, which the streamer said more than 60 million households watched live.

The highly anticipated showdown between the two boxers, one an up-and-comer and the other a retired legend, took the streaming world by storm, landing at #1 in the weekly rankings. Netflix’s new data shows the fight averaging 108 million live global viewers, and it also ranked as the streamer’s #1 TV show title in 78 countries including the US. We'll take a closer look at the fight below, as well as the rest of what's hot on Netflix this week.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson -- #1 on Netflix

The Tyson vs. Paul boxing match was a Top 10 Netflix TV title in 91 countries around the world this week -- and was in such demand, in fact, that the staggering audience put extraordinary demand on Netflix's infrastructure, leading to widespread buffering and other streaming issues that viewers complained about.

Nevertheless, the fight was certainly a momentous event for several reasons. Netflix, for example, has raved that the fight was the most-streamed sporting event ever. The fight’s participants were also part of the draw, given that Tyson is one of the greatest and most feared heavyweight champions in boxing history — known for his ferocity as well as his intimidating presence.

Tyson’s fighting career lasted from the 1980s to the early 2000s, and post-retirement he’s fought here and there in exhibition bouts.

Paul, meanwhile, is a social media influencer and content creator-turned-boxer, known for his ridiculous personality and burgeoning career as a fighter. He’s basically clickbait in the form of a human being, but he lasted eight rounds in the ring with Tyson, so -- whatever.
