Guest Jeff Causey Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 A few days ago an image leaked of a new HTC device called the HTC Desire 8. The large smartphone is supposed to be HTC’s answer for the mid-range market. Although specs have not yet leaked for the device, it appears to have a 5.5-inch display, a 13MP camera, and will be dual-sim capable. Maybe the most interesting bit gleaned from the leaks so far is that HTC is planning to use on-screen buttons for the new device. A couple new images related to the device surfaced on Chinese site Weibo thanks to none other than HTC’s official account on the service. The first image seems to confirm the HTC Desire 8 name and includes the rendering that was spotted earlier. The second image is a screenshot taken from the device. It has been noted that the time and date shown on the screen is February 24th, which would correspond with MWC 2014 and could point to the device’s official unveiling next week. This differs from the image that surfaced last week which had a date of March 18th suggesting a later release date. Do you think HTC could compete in the mid-tier segment of the market? What minimum specifications do you think the device would need in order to be successful? source: Weibo (login required) via: G for Games Come comment on this article: New image of HTC Desire 8 suggests announcement next week Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
