Guest Jeff Causey Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 If you enjoy sharing links to stuff you have found while surfing around the Internet, you no doubt have made use of a URL shortener at some time. Developer Thomas Devaux is bringing the power of URL shortening to Android with the new Google URL Shortener app. The app includes some nice integration touches for use on smartphones or tablets, like the ability to “share” a short URL from any app or copy the new, short URL to the clipboard. The app is built around Google’s goo.gl service. The app will let users access a history of short URLs saved in their history which is connected to a user’s Google account. User’s can also access a variety of reports about short URLs generated by the service, including those created by others, to find out how many visitors have used the short URL, how they are finding it, or other items. Check out some screen shots below and then hit the download link to get the Google URL Shortener app from Google Play for free.
