Guest Jack Holt Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 With our Internet routers doing not much other than keeping us connected, there’s much room to expand. Enter Soap, the world’s first smart router. This Kickstarter project looks to make conventional routers a thing of the past. With soap, you’ll be able to hide your WiFi network, block online ads, control various electronics around the house, i.e. your garage door, lights, locks, etc. “The concept behind Soap was rather simple – we wanted to come up with an innovative, all-inclusive device that could help simplify the lives of countless people who are not accustomed to the latest technologies and the complex software that they are based on.” Currently as it stands, the project is almost $17,000 above its initial goal of $80,000. With each milestone it reaches in terms of money past the 80k needed, more features will be added. The caveat of the router is that regardless of these added features, the only thing limiting the device is what developers make for it. If you’re interested in an Android powered router, and let’s face it, if you’re here on our site, you want Android in everything, then hit the source link below. Backer’s will potentially start seeing this ship in October. source: Soap on Kickstarter Come comment on this article: Soap is the first Internet router sporting Android Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
