Guest Justin Herrick Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Who likes waiting for a carrier to update a device to the latest version of Android? Especially when that carrier is Verizon. Big Red is notoriously slow when it comes to updating devices. And while the LG G2 still does not have the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade being rolled out over-the-air (OTA), it can be done manually through Verizon’s Software Upgrade Assistant. The program, though, can only run through a Windows PC; however, having a Windows partition on a Mac reportedly works. Simply connect your LG G2 to a USB port on a computer and install Verizon’s Software Upgrade Assistant. From there, it should instruct you how to get KitKat running on your G2. Make sure your device has enough space as the update may be rather large.
