Guest Robert Nazarian Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 After almost 8 years with Google, Vic Gundotra is leaving the company. Vic’s position was Senior Vice President for Social at Google ,and he led the creation and rise of Google+. In a Google+ post, Vic said…… Today I’m announcing my departure from Google after almost 8 years. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with the amazing people of Google. I don’t believe there is a more talented and passionate collection of people anywhere else. Vic also talked about the concept of “and then” of which he learned from his wife’s uncle, who sadly passed away recently. Before he died, he would call Vic’s wife every day, and he started every new conversation with “and then” because he felt it was always a continuation from the previous conversation. Vic compares this to our own lives in which we “pour our heart and soul into our work and it becomes something we love and cherish. But even the challenges we work on today will one day become “and thens” as we move on to the next.” Vic didn’t announce what his next “and then” will be because “this is a day to celebrate the past 8 years. To cry. And smile. And to look forward to the journey yet to come.” We will certainly miss Vic Gundotra very much, and Google I/O won’t be the same without him. Good luck with your next “and then” Vic. source +VicGundotra Come comment on this article: [breaking] Vic Gundotra is leaving Google Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
