Samsung launches Level series, new line of premium mobile audio products

Samsung has announced they’ll be entering the mobile audio market with a new lineup of audio equipment called Level. The Level series includes the Level Over, Level On, and Level In, named for being over-ear, on-ear, or in-ear headphones, respectively. There’s a Level Box which looks like a standard Bluetooth speaker similar to what you’d see from a company like Jawbone or Sony. All four of these products are specifically optimized for use with mobile devices, like smartphones and tablets.

 

The Level Over is Samsung’s high-end offering, giving you a pair of over-ear Bluetooth headphones with touch controls, a 50mm driver, and its own app available on the Play Store and Samsung’s app store for managing and tuning different equalizer presets. They’re noise cancelling, too. The Level On are similar to the Level Over, with a slightly smaller driver and no Bluetooth, but there’s no indication on if the dedicated app will work for these, too.

 

The Level In is a set of in-ear buds that lose the Bluetooth pairing, but you get a much smaller design and three-way speaker system. Not bad for in-ear headphones. Lastly, the Level Box is a Bluetooth speaker with a full metal grill and solid metal design, weighing in at 600 grams. It offers a 56 mm driver, so it should be able to put out some great sounds, plus it has NFC for easy pairing.

 

All of the products will be available in either black or white/bronze. No word on pricing, but Samsung claims these will be available to purchase in May, right around when the Tab 4 launches.

 

The Level line looks very cool and opens up a new market for Samsung to jump into, but with Samsung’s track record on pricing, these may struggle to gain too much traction.

Level Over

is Samsung’s flagship over-ear headphone featuring superior HD organic sound, a comfortable ergonomicdesign, touch controls, and wireless Bluetooth pairing.

 

 

A 50 mm Dynamic Driver made with high performance Neodymium, which is 30% stronger than regular magnets, letsusers get deeper, more natural sound. Plus, a free edge structure made from Bio Cellulose prevents resonance betweenthe vibration plate and the frame, avoiding unnecessary booming and providing the original sound. Level Over also usesa hybrid type active noise cancellation, both on the headphone inside and with a mic on the outside that picks up soundsto block so that users can enjoy perfectly crystal clear music.

 

 

Additionally, users can download the Samsung Level application, specially designed to enhance the Level Overexperience, from either Google Play Store or Samsung Apps. Users are now able to customize their audio experience to fit any type of music, media, or listening environment through a comprehensive EQ system called Samsung SoundAlive. Through the SoundAlive equalizer, Samsung Level Over adjusts the EQ to create the perfect balance of sound. Additionally, SoundAlive enables users to further apply 3D audio, bass and clarity effects to every media type, including music, streaming services, games and movies. SoundAlive also offers a very unique experience with 25 settings for different scenarios like Pop, Rock, Jazz or Classic and so on. The Samsung Level app also has a protective and smart volume monitor to prevent hearing loss along with enhanced text-to-speech capabilities.

• Level Box

is a premium and compact Bluetooth speaker that features a solid metal design complete with a full metalgrille. With a large (56mm) stereo speaker and a passive radiator, the system is optimized to deliver high quality soundthat is powerful, crisp and balanced. The dedicated hardware design provides noise reduction and echo cancellation,and built-in microphone deliver clear voice, making it ideal for phone calls and conference calls.

 

 

Users can simply place a Near-Field Communications (NFC) enabled smartphone near the Level Box to quickly andeasily make a connection. Devices without NFC capabilities can still be effortlessly connected through the speaker’s one touch Bluetooth pairing system. Controlling the speaker is also easy with its built-in buttons that allow you to play or stop a song, adjust the volume, and even accept or reject calls. Users can enjoy up to 15 hours of continuous playbackthrough the Level Box’s rechargeable battery.

 

 

Samsung Level series will be available for purchase beginning in mid-May in most markets around the world. They will be also available for purchase through the Samsung Online Store (store.samsung.com) in selective countries. The availability of each Level series will vary by market.
