Guest Jack Holt Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Computers and laptops have been somewhat of a novelty. Packed with OK specs and usually an Android version that’s a few generations behind. Another aspect that’s lacking in these mobile computers is the Google-approved status that allows these devices to use all the Google apps we’ve come to know in our day-to-day. Well thanks to a somewhat hidden video on its web site, HP looks to change a few of those aspects. HP isn’t a novice when it comes to putting Android on conventional computers — as we saw the company announce a 21.5-inch AIO Android computer at CES this year. However, unlike the All-In-One, this current foray into conventional computing will come with Google’s blessing. What this means is that the device will feature Google’s first-party apps like Gmail and YouTube, and will come with the Play Store and its millions of third-party apps. As far as the meat and potatoes of the laptop itself, the device will pack a Tegra 4 processor with 2GB of RAM. It will feature a 14-inch 1080p touchscreen. As far as ports are concerned, it will have three USB ports (we’re not sure if it’s either 2.0 or 3.0), an HDMI-out port, and a SIM card slot. This means that there may potentially be a cellular variant. It will feature Beats Audio as well. From what we can see in the video (featured after the break), the device will most likely come with Jelly Bean, although we’re not sure which version. We’re not sure when we’ll see the announcement of the laptop, but given that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, we’re guessing it will be soon. It appears the video has been pulled, but this is something that has our attention. Would this be something you’d consider buying?
