Guest Jared Peters Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 When HTC announced the One (M8), we almost immediately heard that they were going to release a Google Play Edition of the device. Everyone assumed Samsung would do the same with the Galaxy S 5, but it’s been several weeks since the device became available for purchase and there’s still no word on when or if we will see a Google Play Edition. Earlier on the Play Store, Google updated their page listing all of the GPE devices, and although there’s no official addition of the S 5, the older GPE Galaxy S 5 now has the image of a Galaxy S 5. The link still shows the S 4, but if Google and Samsung weren’t planning on selling some variant of the S 5, why would they take the time to create a press render for the device and then upload it onto the Play Store? Definitely some weird circumstances. Samsung hasn’t made anything official, but keep your eyes out. The GPE of Samsung’s 2014 flagship is probably going to make a splash in the near future. source: Google Play via: Phandroid Come comment on this article: Galaxy S 5 Google Play Edition shows up in Play Store, but you can’t purchase it yet Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
