Guest Jack Holt Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 As Samsung’s latest flagship device — the Galaxy S 5 — receives criticism for its design, the company has decided to replace the head of its mobile design team. Lee Min-hyouk, who’s the vice president of mobile design, will be replacing the departing Chang Dong-hoon who offered to resign last week. “The realignment will enable Chang to focus more on his role as head of the Design Strategy Team, the company’s corporate design center which is responsible for long-term design strategy across all of Samsung’s businesses, including Mobile Communications,” an official Samsung statement said. Min-hyouk became one of the youngest senior executives for the company in 2010 and helped push the Galaxy S series into the mainstream worldwide. Even so, the company has been in continued court battles over copyright infringements regarding the look and feel of the device. So far, despite new features and design tweaks, the 2014 flagship hasn’t received the greatest of consumer responses. People fault a lack of hardware innovations, and the plastic, dimpled design that the device has. However, Dong-hoon will continue to work for the South Korean company and will continue to lead Samsung’s design center that oversees the company’s overall design strategy. source: Reuters Come comment on this article: Samsung replaces mobile design head Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
