Guest Jack Holt Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 While the Galaxy S 5 was the procedural next step in the S line, many folk thought that the phone was somewhat lackluster in terms of being an upgrade over last year’s model. Rumors had the device running at least a 2k display and a metal body. As rumors continued to surface, it was suggested that Samsung would be readying a new line of premium phones that would later be named the Galaxy F line. However, the announcement for the Galaxy S 5 came and went without mention of the Galaxy F series. However new rumors continued to arise that Samsung was readying a Galaxy S 5 Prime and as we continue along, we’re seeing more and more rumors pop up. According to Bluetooth’s SIG database, what may be the S 5 Prime has shown up. Something from Samsung with a model number of SM-G906L is making its way through and receiving a Bluetooth cert. We’ve known that the model number of SM-G906X was associated with the Prime, and that the X in the number was a different letter based on the location of the impending region. The SIG listing hasn’t told us anything about specs, but if current rumors pan out, we’ll see a 5.1 or 5.2-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 805, 3GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear shooter, and a 2 MP front shooter. It will also have Android 4.4.3 right out of the gate. Typically when we a device getting certified for things that’s a good indicator that it’s coming soon. With rumors suggesting that the device will be released in limited quantities, starting in June, the timeline seems about right. While many may not be excited about a new Touchwiz device, it may appease those who were wanting a premium Samsung phone. How about you folks, would a premium S 5 be worth your time? Even if may be close to $900? source: Bluetooth SIG via: G for Games Come comment on this article: The Galaxy S 5 Prime might have just been Bluetooth certified Visit TalkAndroid for Android news, Android guides, and much more!
