Guest Jeff Causey Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Android users looking for a calendar app may want to check out the newly released Sunrise Calendar. Sporting a fresh user interface, even though the app has been available for Apple devices, the influence of Google’s design cues are readily apparent. Along with basic calendar functionality like the ability to add contacts and locations to entries, the Android version of the app includes a widget for quick access. For Android users who probably don’t use iCloud, Sunrise Calendar will connect to your Google calendars. Unfortunately, they have not yet added support for Exchange connections, so corporate users may not find this suitable. The developers also indicate the app has not yet been optimized for tablets. Both of those features are on their way. Besides the smartphone app, Sunrise makes access available via a web interface through a browser. That interface includes many of the same design elements. You can check out some screenshots and their announcement video below. While everything Sunrise Calendar offers is available through other means, the polish of the interface may be enough to make it worth adding to your device, especially given the free price.
